Guardian Hook Privacy Policy
Guardian Hook Privacy Policy
Publisher: Kong Studios Inc. ยท Updated October 11, 2026
Guardian Hook does not require a game account. This policy covers the web game, Android Google Play release and iOS TestFlight releases published by Kong Studios Inc. Contact: admin@kongstudios.net.
Progress on your device
Stage progress, settings, best times and local records are stored on your device. Clearing app or browser data can remove these records. Offline Android test builds and the offline iOS TestFlight build do not send gameplay data to our collection service.
Optional gameplay measurement
The public web game and enabled Google Play release send stage starts, completions, deaths and exits; play duration, hook count, failure reason, game version and distribution cohort. Random installation, session and attempt identifiers distinguish visits without a login. Our Cloudflare service stores hashed identifiers rather than names, email addresses, raw IP addresses or browser user-agent strings. Requests still pass through Cloudflare's infrastructure.
Google Play analytics and diagnostics
The Google Play release also uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. When sharing is enabled, these services process app-instance or installation identifiers, app interactions, app/device/operating-system information, crash reports and diagnostic data. Analytics can derive approximate geographic information from network information. We do not request precise location, contacts, microphone, photos or an advertising identifier.
iOS analytics and crash reports
Firebase-enabled iOS TestFlight builds use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for the app interactions, installation identifiers, approximate geography and diagnostics described above. Earlier offline iOS builds did not include Firebase. iOS does not send data to our Cloudflare gameplay collector. Sharing is enabled by default when the game first loads. In Settings, choose Pause analytics & crash reports to disable collection, reset Analytics state and delete unsent crash reports. Your choice is saved on this device and restored before the game loads on subsequent launches so startup errors can be diagnosed when sharing is enabled. Pausing does not erase reports already uploaded. No IDFA, IDFV, ad personalization, live ads or automatic screen reporting is enabled in this Firebase-only iOS build.
Purpose and service providers
We use measurement to find crashes, understand which stages players reach, and improve level difficulty and app performance. Google Firebase and Cloudflare process information to provide analytics, diagnostics and infrastructure. The current release has no real-money purchases or live advertisements. Ad personalization is disabled.
Age screening in Google Play build 6
Google Play version 1.1.0 (build 6) checks a date of birth on the device before starting the game. The date is then discarded and is not saved or sent by the app. Only a broad age category, the analytics choice and the notice version are stored on the device. Players under 18, players who choose not to provide their age, and adults who decline analytics can play all 100 Google Play stages with local progress and best times. These users do not send remote gameplay analytics or crash reports, and the app does not create telemetry identifiers or queue gameplay events for later transmission.
Your sharing choice
In Google Play build 6, remote measurement starts only after an adult selects Allow analytics. Adults can review or withdraw this optional choice in Settings without losing access to the game. In measurement-enabled web builds and earlier Google Play test builds without an age screen, sharing is enabled by default and can be paused in Settings.
Pausing or withdrawing stops future gameplay measurement and clears queued gameplay events. The Google Play app also disables Firebase collection, resets local Analytics state and deletes unsent crash reports. This does not erase data already uploaded. You can continue playing and saving local progress with sharing paused.
Retention and requests
Local progress remains until you clear it. Uploaded reports and events can remain after you stop sharing or uninstall. The current Cloudflare pilot has no automatic retention expiry; an event quota limits new collection and does not delete existing records. Firebase data follows the configured service retention settings. For privacy questions or requests concerning your information, contact admin@kongstudios.net. Because the game has no account or email-based player record, we may need information about your app installation to locate relevant records.
Security and international processing
Network transfers use HTTPS. Access to the collection database is restricted to our operational tools. Google and Cloudflare may process information in countries other than your own. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We will update this policy when the game's collection or features change. The date above identifies this version.
